Designed for the hermeneutics novice, Seeing God in HD will uncover the art and science behind Bible interpretation. Mark Moore has created a resource that will highlight the beauty of digging into God's Word. The reader will discover the importance of language, historical context, literary context, words and their definitions in their original language, grammar, and how verses fit into the overall scope of Scripture. However, Seeing God in HD is anything but dry and stuffy discourse. Moore's engaging writing style enlivens a subject often reserved for ivory-tower theologians. Moore hands the reader tools which will create a brighter, clearer, and sharper picture of God and His Word. Mark Moore has created a Power Point presentation that accompanies each chapter. These presentations come out of years of Moore's teaching experience at Ozark Christian College. College Press Publishing and Moore are offering the slides to customers for their use. Each presentation is labeled by chapter and will require Microsoft Power Point to open and use. When you open up a presentation, you will notice that the slides correspond to the material in the chapter—many times following the chapter subheadings or main points. If you are teaching through this book, you may wish to utilize these as a visual teaching aid, to enhance your students' learning. "Listening to Professor Mark Moore’s scintillating Bible studies each morning of the National Missionary Convention last November was a treat. You’d think, after a lifetime of studying and preaching, that I’d pretty well mastered the Bible by now. (After all, many of my young friends are pretty well convinced they’ve “got it.” I envy their self-assurance.) Well, I haven’t. And that’s why I hung onto Moore’s every word. Even when I wondered whether he was right or not, I couldn’t accuse him of rushing to judgment. This man does his homework. He also is good at helping us do ours. Seeing God in HD is all about hermeneutics, which is simply the art and science of interpretation. It’s what, if we would only take the discipline seriously, would keep us out of a whole lot of trouble and save a lot of breath as we argue over what this verse or that passage means. After teaching at Ozark Christian College for nearly 20 years, Moore understands what young people need if they are going to be fair with their interpretations of Scriptures. It’s what we old people need, too." --LeRoy Lawson, "FROM MY BOOKSHELF: For Presiders, Preachers, Prayers, and Other Leaders," Christian Standard, 3-15-09   Click here to download the complimentary chapter Power Point presentations in a zipped (.zip) format.
