Living With Stress: Biblical Truths to Manage Your Life

Overcome or Overcoming?

Stress is a huge factor in our health. recent studies indicate that two-thirds of our visits to doctors stem from stress-related illness. This year Americans will pay over one billion dollars to deal with these medical woes. This amount is small compared to the 150 billion dollars American businesses will pay in health insurance, absenteeism, burnout, lost productivity, poor morale, and worker turnover due to inadequately managed stress.

The author of this book, Christian counselor Charles Gerber, sees a host of clients who demonstrate in tragic ways the destructive potential of mismanaged stress. Both from his clinical observations and his personal study of God's word he draws wisdom to help us cope with the stresses so concentrated in our modern lifestyles.

As you read this book you will discover...

  • How to recognize when your stress levels are approaching the danger zone.
  • How to use the Scriptures to shield your mind and soul from damaging levels of stress.
  • Simple, do-able regimens for daily stress reduction.
  • Biblical ways to strengthen your innermost being against a stress meltdown.
  • How to use laughter and joy to combat harmful stress.

None of us can live in a world without stress. None of us would want to! Who would like to give up the stress of a downhill ski run or a passionate kiss? For that matter, who would elect to lost the job or the family that generates so much of life's most demanding stress? We can't live without stress, Charles Gerber grants, but he insists that all of us can learn the biblical principles that will equip us to live holy, healthy, happy lives in a stress-filled world.
