I,II & III John (NIV), soft cover

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE ISSUES FACING CHRISTIANITY?

IS SOUND DOCTRINE IMPORTANT TO YOU?

ARE YOU CONFUSED BY THE CLAIMS AND COUNTER CLAIMS SURROUNDING THE RESURRECTION?

This study examines these questions and issues facing Chistianity at the close of the twenthieth century. Viewed from the beliefs of gnostic and docetic theology, the claims and counter claims of the scholarly world will take on a new and disturbing ring!

DID JESUS REALLY DIE?

IF HE WAS GOD HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?

WAS THERE A REAL AND PHYSICAL RESURRECTION?

WAS JESUS FLESH AND BLOOD OR SPIRIT AND VAPOR?

At first these questions may seem ominous and unnswerable. Upon examination of these questions, modern claims melt away into ancient heresy! The questions and proposed problems raised are older than universities and easily handled by the Apostle John.

In the Epistles of John, the apostle examines and deflates the feeble arguments, studies and beliefs of the Gnostics and Docestists. Their charge that Jesus did not die and was not resurrected was meant to lead astray countless Christian's while adding countless pagans to their flock. John, however, an eyewitness to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ provides us with the theological and physical evidence necessary to deal with these damaging claims.

As we look to the twenty-first century the gnostic and docetic followers have died away. Their beliefs, seen now as great folly, have given birth to scholasticism, rationalism and the "new" age. Once again the church seems powerless to stop the erosion. once again the voice of John is heard calling through the centuries. Once again the true church must stand and defeat the enemies of sound doctrine, Once again we must look to the testimony of the Apostles.

John's presentation of the physical aspects of the resurrection are unparalleled! This study examines John's answer to these "new" brands of Gnosticism sweeping our churches. Dr. Womack has succeeded in building a bridge from the first century to the twenty-first century, providing the tools needed to guard our hearts against these dangerous beliefs.
