This book is the story of one six-year period in the life of a family which for three generations has been involved continuously in Christian missionary work in Asia—first in Tibet and China, then in Burma (Myanmar), and more recently in Thailand.
About the Author
Eugene Morse was four months old when his parents left Oklahoma, in 1921, to become missionaries in the Himalayas. His brother Robert was born in Tibet in 1923. During World War II they and a younger brother helped flyers who crashed while carrying supplies over the “Hump.”
After the war they returned to the United States to study and to marry, and then followed their parents as missionaries. The Morses were forced out of China by the communists (their father was imprisoned for fifteen months) and settled in Burma. The author, his brother, Robert and some of their children are presently missionaries in Thailand.
